Local Development with mage-agent (MCP)

We’re introducing mage-agent, a new CLI for developing and interacting with Mage locally.

With built-in support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), you can connect Mage directly to tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex. Developers can create pipelines, manage blocks, trigger runs, and inspect logs — all from their local environment.

This enables a fully local, AI-assisted development loop:

• Sync projects locally and iterate quickly

Mage now integrates seamlessly into modern AI-native developer workflows.

Version Control & Git Integration (PAT + SSH)

Mage now provides more flexible and enterprise-ready Git authentication.

You can connect repositories using:

• HTTPS with Personal Access Tokens (PAT)

• SSH-based authentication

These methods work consistently across:

• Deployment workflows

• Workspace environments

• Terminal-based Git operations

This enables:

• Operation in air-gapped or restricted environments without OAuth

Microsoft Fabric Integration

Execution configuration is now more flexible and granular.

You can define Kubernetes executor settings at the pipeline level, with a clear override hierarchy:
